Episode 57: NEVER DIE ALONE (DMX)

DMX

NEVER DIE ALONE was an early 2000s crime film starring DMX, Michael Ealy, David Arquette, Tiny ‘Zues’ Lister Jr., and Clifton Powell. It was based on a Donald Goines novel of the same name. It was directed by Ernest Dickerson. It’s a really weird movie and the rare example where you SHOULD NOT read the book first. It’s a well-written story, but due to some odd choices in editing and music, it’s ultimately an uneven viewing experience. DMX was still in the prime of his career and we enjoyed discussing his accomplishments in music and film.
