DJ Set - Quarantine Rap Vinyl

ColorCorrected.jpg

Live-streamed some rap vinyl for everyone during this weird quarantine.

Tons of old southern shit, some west coast, very little actual “mixing”. The first 10 minutes are Redd Foxx doing comedy while we wait for people to jump into the stream. It starts nerdy and then becomes a house party by the end.

This was a blast. Partial tracklist provided by Anthony in real time below:

Devin the Dude, Juvenile & Z-ro - The Mule
"Baller Blockin" by a tasteful melange of Cash Money members + E-40
Another random Cash Money song, produced by Jazze Pha?
"Street Talkin" by Slick Rick & Big Boi
"They Don't Live That Long" by Trick Daddy Dollars
I think this is Shoestring from the Dayton Family, but I'm grasping at straws
"Round out tha Tank" by Mystikal
Not that it needs an introduction from me, but for the sake of posterity, "Ha", by Juvenile (Hot Boyz Remix)
"We Got This Here", from a random Greg Street comp, featuring Mystikal, Jazze Pha, and someone who escapes me at the moment
I think this is "Playa Ass Shit" by JT Money, but it's been awhile since I listened to JT Money
"TRIAL TIME" by The Last Real Mr Bigg
E-40 & B-Legit - Doin Dirt Bad

Suga Free, Hi-C, and DJ Quik, though not sure what the track is
DJ Quik - Safe + Sound
Odd Squad (the Devin the Dude posse that includes a blind guy that frequently raps about Mr Magoo-like misadventures) - "Da Squad"
Tash (from the Alkaholiks) & Kurupt - G's iz G's
Volume 10 - Pistol Grip Pump
"It's OK" by Slimm Calhoun (featuring Andre 3000)
"Trans DF Express" by The Dungeon Family
"In Da Wind" - Trick Daddy, Cee-Lo, & Big Boi

Outkast + Raewkon - Royal Flush
Outkast and random people from Atlanta - Gangsta Shit
Some old G-Unit that I briefly thought was "I Smell Pussy", the Irv Gotti diss that Tony Yayo recorded before getting sent upstate

It's quarantine season, so here are a bunch of great rap records spun by a mediocre DJ. Brought to you by Bodega Box Office. Starts off with some Redd Foxx while we wait for everyone to start the stream. I'm not a skilled DJ by any means, so there's no behind the back crossfader wizardry here, just blending back and forth.
