Episode 95: SLICE (Chance The Rapper)

Chance the Rapper in the movie SLICE.

Slice is a film where ghosts live among us, food delivery drivers function more like roving gangs, and Chance the Rapper plays an exiled werewolf. It’s pretty great. It sometimes threatens to fall apart under the weight of its many many many many ideas and non-stop jokes in Austin Vesely’s script, but the insane cast of Zazie Beetz, Paul Scheer, Chris Parnell, Steve From Stranger Things (his government name) and Hannibal Burress are more than up to the task of keeping this thing afloat. Plus, if you’re watching it to glean some larger insight about human behavior, you played yourself. This is a get high with your friends and devote 70 percent of your attention kind of thing.

Episode-wise, we talk about Chance The Rappers music, suspect government officials, we struggle to understand what Tik Tok is, and Ryan talks about how much of his thumb he accidentally cut off.
