Episode 53: SUNSET PARK (Fredro Starr)

Our friend Angel joined us to watch one of his favorite movies, Sunset Park (Fredro Starr, Rhea Pearlman, Terrance Howard, John Aprea, and Carol Kane). It’s a pull-at-your-heartstrings story about a recently divorced former volleyball coach who takes over a high school basketball team. The white savior theme is dumb, but the movie overall is pretty good. And It has one of the best soundtracks EVER. We play tracks from it including MC Lyte. There’s a level of 90’s hip hop nostalgia here as well and we could’ve played a drinking game counting the number of conversations that started with “dun”, or “gawd”. There were some annoying inconsistencies especially from an NYC geography standpoint, but we liked watching this one.

Angel came through to watch and discuss one of his favorite movies, Sunset Park starring Fredro Starr from Onyx and Rhea Perlman from Cheers. Probably our most "inebriated" episode.
